Beauty. The MethodMale’s official website launch

The skincare advocate and expert in men’s beauty Saleam Tyree Singleton or TheMethodMale as you may know him on Instagram is launching his own online website this summer to explore beauty from a men’s perspective.

The ‘man about beauty’, as he calls himself, became interested in men’s beauty in high school, after experiencing breakouts and hyperpigmentation and having to face neighborhood bullies. That was the start of years of self-consciousness that led him to try every product he could find until he realized that being a man and loving skincare was a thing that caused issues in our world. The lack of brands that would target men in this area made him start to post tutorials on YouTube and later on Instagram. TheMethodMale as we know him now was born.

‘To me, self-care is a radical act – something men have been told isn’t for them’, as he said in an article posted on the website Byrdie. Because yes, that man is also a contributing writer for Byrdie and will keep writing with them when his website will have launched.

For now, the launching is planned for this coming summer and the idea is to ‘not overdo the concept. I wanted to take my time and develop a following and an audience before launching my website. It isn’t intended to operate as a competition for Byrdie. It will be an extension of my voice, brand, image and experiences in beauty and culture spaces’, Saleam declared.

Now you may ask, what content will I see on this website ? When I asked him what he will be offering, he said ‘I will be continuing to explore beauty from a men’s perspective while also providing information for anyone interested in learning more about skincare, beauty, and their impact on culture. It will be a combination of brief articles, photos and videos. I won’t be reinventing the wheel in terms of topics but it will be a beauty-centric site’.

The ageless, older millenial (as he called himself in the interview), who has always had a lot of support throughout his career (from men and women) aims to target anyone who has been a supporter thus far – as well as anyone interested in his brand of beauty exploration.

Saleam stays very focussed on his next career move (which would be to become a beauty editor for a major outlet) and keeps his feet on the ground. ‘I don’t consider demographics as much as I consider overall interests. The beauty community can’t be put into one target box’.
